If you have an externship in place through a personal contact, let your concentration advisor know as soon as possible.
When you see something that interests you, Google it and get more information, then contact your Externship Cohort Advisor with your thoughts/preferences to get the process started. They will provide contact information for you.
Here is a list of all EHS Senior Externships since 2010. Looking at what prior classes have done will help you as you plan your EHS Senior Externship:
WRITE AN OFFICIAL CONTACT EMAIL TO A SUPERVISOR OR CONTACT TO INTRODUCE YOURSELF AND THE EXTERNSHIP IN MAY.
This is a template for a contact email to your externship partner/supervisor. When you and your Senior Externship advisor determine what you are interested in, you will use this to contact a potential Externship Partner:

CONFIRM YOUR EXTERNSHIP WELL BEFORE SPRING BREAK!
Continue to contact your partner organization/employer until you confirm that you will be working with them in May- this may take repeated attempts by phone, email, and possibly a site visit.
It is your responsibility to notify your supervisor of ANY commitments in May that may keep you from showing up for work (your signed contract).
