Wildwood SM Packing List
We can't express how excited we are to meet each of you and spend the summer serving Jesus together. You are going to love Wildwood!
Clothes
Storage space is really limited, so pack creatively! You’ll need shorts, shirts, jeans, socks and all of the other stuff you normally put on every morning. Bring some Sunday dress clothes for church and one or two nice outfits for special dinners. The summer starts out cool, so bring a light jacket. Some appropriate swimwear is key beach attire. Women, choose a one-piece bathing suit. Men, no Speedo’s!
Linens
Twin-sized sheets, a blanket, pillow, and towels.
Toiletries
Soap, shampoo, toothpaste, etc. Sunscreen, too.
Musical Instruments
Wanna jam or share your talent? Bring your guitar, flute, drums, harp, harmonica, or any other instrument you might play.
Money
Have enough to get by until your first paycheck— remember it will be several weeks before you actually get paid. $250-300 should do it. I wouldn’t recommend carrying around large amounts of cash—there’s an ATM right around the corner from our house. You’re encouraged to open a summer bank account while you’re in Wildwood.
Sports Equipment
Bike (and heavy-duty lock), basketball, volleyball, soccer ball, etc.
Car
Helpful, especially if your job is a couple of miles away. Most parking is on the street.
Computers and Electronic Equipment
Just consider the reality that we live in a busy beach town and bringing this stuff presents an opportunity to have it stolen; so don't bring anything that's not backed up or priceless (to you). Please don’t bring a desktop computer because space is limited. No TVs.
As you pack and prepare, here are some things to consider:
Space is limited! You will be 2-4 to a room and it is tight on space. Please pack accordingly. You will most likely be sharing a small closet and have a desk and 2-3 small drawers each.
Please bring your own sheets, pillows and towels.
There is street parking and a few spots available at the church two blocks away
Computers - you are free to bring a laptop with you and there is wireless internet at the apartments. We will ask that you use them less than normal to fully participate in the summer mission. We don't want them to be a distraction but also know they are great for communicating with supporters and family back home.
