NARRATOR : (flashback)

Once upon a time, there was a mischievous and cunning mouse deer named Sang Kancil who lived in a dense forest. Right now, Sang Kancil is trapped and surrounded by a group of hungry crocodiles.

“Oh no, how is Kancil going to get out of this scary situation?”

The crocodiles had been waiting for Sang Kancil to make a move, but he had remained still. The crocodiles were getting restless and were about to make their move when Sang Kancil suddenly sprang into action. “SPLASHH!”

Let’s rewind to the beginning of this story and see how Sang Kancil got into this sticky situation in the first place.

NARRATOR :

Once upon a time, there was a clever and mischievous creature known as Sang Kancil. Despite being small, Sang Kancil was very smart and always found a way to outwit those who tried to harm him. One day, Sang Kancil was out foraging for food when he came across a river. On the other side of the river were miles of trees bearing ripe and delicious red rambutan.

INSTRUCTION |

Teacher picks up another stone with a picture of rambutans.

NARRATOR :

As he was thinking about how to cross the river, he noticed a group of crocodiles sunbathing on the bank.

NARRATOR :

Knowing that crocodiles were dangerous natural enemies, Sang Kancil quickly thought of a plan to outsmart them and kill two birds with one stone.

He decided to approach the crocodiles cautiously and act friendly towards them. When the crocodiles saw Sang Kancil, they were surprised to see him there.

Sang Kancil explained to the crocodiles that he was on his way to King Sulaiman’s feast and that all the crocodiles were invited. However, he needed to count how many crocodiles were going to inform King Sulaiman. The crocodiles, not suspecting anything, were very excited to dine.

Sang kancil asked all the crocodiles to form a line all the way across the river so it was easier for him to count the crocodiles. All of the crocodiles readily offered their cooperation and formed a line.

INSTRUCTION |

Teacher picks up the crocodile stones and forms them into a line.

NARRATOR :

Sang Kancil went up to the crocodiles, hops on each one of them and starts to count all the crocodiles one by one.

SANG KANCIL :

“ 1 crocodiles, 2 crocodiles, 3 crocodiles... "

INSTRUCTION |

Teacher picks up the Sang Kancil stone and mimics the motion of hopping across all six of the crocodile stones.

NARRATOR :

The crocodiles were so delighted at the thought of getting a free meal, that they did not even realize that Sang Kancil was almost halfway through the river.

SANG KANCIL :

“ 4 crocodiles, 5 crocodiles and … "

NARRATOR :

The last crocodile was suspicious and thought that Sang Kancil would be better off as a starter meal for the feast and decided to try and bite him.

Sang Kancil smartly maneuvers his way and successfully lands on top of a big rock on the other side of the river bank

The crocodiles surrounder the big rock and waited for Sang Kancil to make a move, but he had remained still. The crocodiles were getting restless and were about to make their move when Sang Kancil suddenly sprang into action. “SPLASHH!”

One of the crocodiles fell back into the river after attempting to jump with the others following suit

Once he got to the other side of the river bank safely, Sang Kancil laughed. He then thanked the crocodiles for their help, ran,  and proceeded to happily eat the ripe rambutans.

INSTRUCTION |

Teacher picks up another stone with a picture of Sang Kancil eating rambutan.

NARRATOR :

From that day on, the crocodiles knew that they could never underestimate Sang Kancil again. And Sang Kancil once again used his wit and cunning mind to outsmart those who tried to harm him. Sang Kancil continued on his way, ready for his next adventure.

. THE END .
