Q & A with the Literary Magazine Club Members:
What is your favorite book and why?
My favorite books (because I can't just choose one) is “The Song of Achilles”, by Madeline Miller, and “The Book Thief”, by Markus Zusak. I love “The Song of Achilles” because it accurately depicts Greek mythology while still having the most interesting plot I’ve ever read. I love “The Book Thief” because it has great importance in showing the reality of people during WWII, and has intricate details with losses that makes it an unforgettable book.
My favorite book is Divine Rivals by Rebecca Ross because it shows such a pure, beautiful romance. Also, Rebecca Ross's writing is so unique and beautiful because it's almost lyrical.
The massive Collins German-English dictionary I have is probably my favourite. It was a nice gift, and serves as a continuous source of knowledge.
The book Before the C
offee Gets Cold is a touching novel which takes place in a small and tucked-away café in Tokyo, where you can time-travel under certain conditions.
The author utilizes simple words to evoke strong feelings such as the burden of unsaid words, missed chances, and the silent relief powered by forgiveness.
The book appealed to me because it is a subtle reminder that change is inevitable, regardless of positivity or negativity, peace and understanding will always be in your favor, and healing is a part of a journey.
My favorite book is Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger. It is my favorite book because I relate to the main character, Holden Caulfield. I also like the way the book is written in extreme detail..
My favorite books of all time are Carrie Soto is Back by Taylor Jenkins Reid and The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern. I love them both because of the characters and development they go through.
One of my favorite books to teach is Frankenstein. I love gothic literature and the layers of story telling. Plus, it's fun when students realize that Frankenstein is the scientist and not the 'monster'.
