What or who was our biggest inspiration?
My greatest inspiration stems from the dreams I have at night, the elements of my favorite films and shows, and the personal hardships I’ve overcome. I look up to my favorite singers, actors, and athletes—because they are proof that what I dream of is tangible.
Are you going to keep writing?
Writing is a lifelong pursuit for me, and my greatest aspiration is to bring my imagination to life by producing film adaptations of my novels.
Who or what supported you through all this?
Without writing, I lose a sense of purpose. I deeply feel that is what I am meant to accomplish in my life, and nothing will ever push me more than the people who try to tell me I can’t do it.
How do you feel about being published?
Being published adds a little more fuel to my journey. It embodies a milestone, reminding me that I am a step closer.
Do you love writing? Tell us why?
I love writing because it allows me the ability to impact—whether to amuse, to captivate, to inspire, or even sadden. Writing allows me to be creative; to have a voice; and most importantly, it offers the chance to give readers that resonate a reminder that they have a voice too. Though my stories are fictional, I weave into them the real challenges I’ve faced and the growth I’ve experienced, reflected through my characters; hoping that readers will see themselves in those journeys and realize that change is not only possible—but within their reach.
