A "Challenge" is simply a question that helps us focus our learning.
Challenge questions are the basis for the Challenge Mosaic structure of my class.
The Challenge Mosaic is a research based way of organizing learning material in way that is best for the brain.
Each Challenge begins with a Question.
Participants make their Initial Thoughts by free writing responses to the question.
Then we move into Multiple Perspectives where students are given access to and choices of many different "voices" (types of resources) relating to the Challenge.
Once ready, students are invited to Reflect on their learning individually, Revise their thinking in a small group, and Report out their group's observations to the entire class.
The Challenge Mosaic helps build and myelinate brain structures that allow for cognitive rehearsal with both content and 21st century skills like collaboration and communication. It is accessible for learners and ANY level and allows voice for ALL students.
