Here you will find important information regarding registration, policies, procedure, instructor bios and more regarding our after-school music lessons at Ensworth.

RED GABLES CAMPUS - Monday, May 13th, 6:45-8:45PM, FRIST HALL & PATTON HALL COMMONS

Timeline: Our Spring 2024 School of Music offerings will run from 01/08-05/10 and will run from 3:30-6:00pm Monday-Friday at Red Gables and from 3:30-7:00pm Monday-Friday on Frist Campus.

• Monday Lessons: January 8th - May 6th (15 lessons)

• Tuesday Lessons January 9th - May 7th (18 Lessons)

• Wednesday Lessons: January 10th - May 8th (16 Lessons)

• Thursday Lessons: January 11th - May 9th (16 Lessons)

ENSEMBLES/CLASSES: We are excited to continue to offer our Percussion Ensemble for our Red Gables Students. Please read below for information about this Ensemble! Classes are $40/week per student but can be bundled with lessons for a $10/week discount. This discount is handled after registration.

• TUESDAYS (5:00-6:00PM) - PERCUSSION ENSEMBLE: This exciting new ensemble (limited to 3rd-5th graders) serves as a great introduction to percussion rudiments and playing various basic styles of hand drums and percussion instruments in a group format. Students will work with our new percussion instructor, Mr. Fenton to develop great skills in reading and playing rhythm. This is a beginner level class, so no prior experience is needed! 

*THERE WILL BE NO LESSONS/CLASSES/ENSEMBLES ON THE FOLLOWING DAYS:*

- MLK Day (01/15)
- RG Parent Conferences/HS Service Day (02/02)
- High School Parent Conferences - NO LESSONS ON FRIST CAMPUS (02/14-02/15)
- Faculty In-Service/Late Winter Break Weekend (02/16)
- Late Winter Break (02/19)
- Spring Break (03/08-03/15)
- Spring Weekend (03/29)

Registration: All registration will happen directly from the registration site linked below. Registration will open on Tuesday, January 2nd at 7:00 p.m and will close at 7:00pm on Friday, January 5th. If you would like an hour lesson, please sign up for two back-to-back 30-minute slots.

Cost/Payment: Lessons are $50/half hour and $90/hour (hour lessons strongly recommended for high school students). For specific semester totals for each weekday please see the list above and on the registration page. Lessons may be paid in two payments. The first will be charged on January 8th, and the second will be charged on March 4th. We will charge the card on file at that time for your convenience. There will also be a $35 Recital Fee each semester for all students involved in the lessons program. These will be indicated at check-out.

Cancellation/Rescheduling Policy: Payment is non-refundable for lessons (unless canceled by the instructor). All lessons missed by students/families are forfeited by default. Lessons may be rescheduled for the same week with 48 hours notice from the family and only if the teacher has availability and is willing to make the lesson up. This is out of respect for our instructors' time and due to the complicated logistics of rescheduling. Lessons canceled by instructors and not made up within the lesson cycle will be refunded to the card charged or credited for future lessons.

Aftercare: Any students staying on the Red Gables campus before or after their lesson/ensemble will need to be registered for Aftercare in addition to their lesson. Students with 3:30pm lesson do not need to be registered for Aftercare if they get picked up right after their lesson.

Red Gables Lesson Pickup/Drop-off: All students must be dropped off at the Aftercare office at least 5 minutes before their lesson and picked up from the Aftercare office immediately after their lesson. Any students without an immediate ride when their lesson ends will be taken to Aftercare and their family will be charged the Aftercare fee for that day. 

Red Gables Students on Frist Campus: Many of our instructors on the Frist campus offer lessons to our Red Gables families. Please note that you should not register a Red Gables student for any 3:30pm slots at the Frist Campus because you will not have time to get from Red Gables to Frist by 3:30.

Instrument Provision: With the exception of Piano and Drum Kit students, all students will be required to bring their own instruments. Upon registering for lessons, you will receive instructor contact information if you should need advice about where to rent or buy instruments.
