Instructor Bios

Laura Epling - Strings

Since graduating with a Bachelor of Music from Belmont University in 2016, Laura has worked consistently as a violinist and string arranger within the small, beloved strings community in Nashville, Tennessee, where she resides. In 2018, she completed her two-year apprenticeship as an orchestrator’s assistant with renowned arranger Kristin Wilkinson. Now working primarily behind the scenes as a recording musician and arranger, Laura uses her experience assisting with projects for such names as Willie Nelson, Brandi Carlile, and John Prine to inform her writing and performing today.

Laura has appeared in studio recordings for several mainstream artists including Fantasia, Carrie Underwood, Cody Fry, Moon Taxi, Birdy, and more. She has also performed on television for the ABC CMA Awards, ABC’s CMA Country Christmas, and CBS’s The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Her string arrangements have found their way into TV placements on the USA Network show Suits (Moon Taxi, “Good As Gold”) and on the Hallmark Channel movie Christmas on Honeysuckle Lane (Alicia Witt, “Christmas Miracle”). Most recently, Laura had the privilege of appearing in and arranging for the 2021 CMT Giants TV special honoring the legacy of Charley Pride, where she backed performances by Gladys Knight, George Strait, Luke Combs, and others.

Nathan Fenton - Drums, Percussion Ensemble

Nathan Fenton is a current elementary music teacher for Metro Nashville Public Schools and percussionist. He graduated with a degree in Music Education from Middle Tennessee State University and currently holds a Tennessee Teaching License for Instrumental Music K-12. Nathan has also participated in many ensembles including the Spirit of Atlanta Drum and Bugle Corps, Equinox Percussion, the MTSU Band of Blue,  MTSU Percussion Ensemble, and the MTSU Symphonic Band.

Nathan’s experience as a music educator includes teaching front ensemble technique and performance for Shelbyville Central High School and Ravenwood High School and now serves as the music teacher at Joelton Elementary School. His expertise includes a wide range of percussion instruments including drum set, concert and marching snare drum, marimba, and vibraphone.


Nathan’s students will learn about various ways to develop skills in percussion including technique, instrument handling, improvisation, and sound quality. He looks forward supporting all students in this life long journey of music.

Corrina Gill - Voice/Piano/Guitar

Born and raised in Nashville Tennessee, Corrina is both an Ensworth alum and Belmont University graduate. At Ensworth, she participated in Encore, Rock Band, and all of the musical theatre productions. At Belmont, she majored in Commercial Voice with an emphasis in songwriting. She is an artist, with a heart for teaching music. Her passions include songwriting and vocal performance, with proficiency in self accompaniment on guitar and piano. 


At 22 years old, she has performed in many places, most notably the Ryman Auditorium and the Opry house. She’s written and recorded a ten-song album and a five-song EP, led the guitar program and chapel program at Merri-Mac camp for girls, and has worked as a Teaching Artist at the Ensworth Vocal Arts and Songwriting Intensives - teaching a variety of workshops and masterclasses ranging from vocal technique and audition prep to songwriting and performance coaching. Corrina has a deep love for music and creativity and hopes to share the joy that they bring with her students!

David Johnson - Strings

David Johnson has extensive professional experience in the Classical, Country, Jazz, Bluegrass, Irish, and Old Time styles.  Mr. Johnson toured as the fiddle player with Country Music artist Randy Travis for 27 years. 

Having studied Violin Performance at the University of Iowa and Middle Tennessee State University, he plays Violin I in the Paducah, Jackson, and Murfreesboro Symphonies. He also serves as Concertmaster for the Parthenon Chamber Orchestra and the Trevecca Symphony Orchestra.    

Mr. Johnson is an Adjunct Instructor of Violin for Cumberland University, and is the Adjunct Instructor for Commercial Violin at Trevecca Nazarene University.  

Natalie Johnson - Voice

Originally from Spokane, WA, Natalie is a versatile vocalist, musician, and songwriter based in Nashville with over 10 years of experience in pop, rock, jazz, soul, musical theater, classical, and choral music. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Commercial Voice with a songwriting emphasis from Belmont University and is Level 1 certified in Somatic Voicework: The LoVetri Method™. In college, she spent two years singing in the vocal jazz ensemble “Jazzmin” and all four in the award-winning a cappella group “Prismatics”. Natalie has performed in a wide array of musical competitions and starred in lead roles like Cinderella from Into the Woods and Audrey from Little Shop of Horrors. Since graduation, she continues to study voice and pedagogy with Jenny Wolfe. She regularly performs at restaurants like Sambuca and Jeff Ruby’s and is the current frontwoman for the 80s Rock cover band Stoopid Kool. Natalie released her debut single "Small Talk" in 2022 and followed it up with "Complicated" in 2023, with more music on the horizon. Alongside her performing career, she teaches voice and enjoys working with aspiring young singers to help them achieve their musical goals.

Emma Lambiase - Bass/Guitar

Emma is a bassist, vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter from Arlington, TX, living in Nashville. She graduated with a Bachelor of Music from Belmont University in 2018, majoring in Electric Bass. Since then she has toured the US consistently with artists Jake Wesley Rogers and Amythyst Kiah. Recent tours include opening spots for Jason Isbel, The Who, Panic! At the Disco, Brandi Carlile, Kesha, Lionel Richie, and more. Other notable performances include spots on Ellen, Late Night with Seth Meyers, and The Late Late Show with James Corden.

At age 9, Emma started playing bass, taking private lessons and performing in bands. It was an instant, perfect fit — and she considers herself extremely lucky to have found an outlet for self-expression so early on. In college she picked up guitar and upright bass as well. Through her positions at Girls Rock Programs in Texas, she discovered a love for teaching and working with young musicians to help develop their talent and relationship with music. Emma writes and records her own music from her home in Nashville, TN, and regularly collaborates with other local musicians and artists on recordings and shows.

Brandon Lucas - Guitar/Ukulele

Brandon Lucas graduated from West Virginia University in 2009 with a degree in Jazz Performance. From that moment forward, He has been determined to give the world the gift of music, one student at a time. He teaches Guitar, Piano, Bass, Ukulele, Songwriting, and Production.

Each student will learn the fundamentals, such as strumming or chord spelling, and progress to advanced harmony and composition. Brandon will shape his program around each individual student, providing the opportunity to learn new music and old favorites.

Brandon has also been coaching rock bands in Nashville for the past 10 years, and co-created Popshop, and Rock Nashville.

Melvin Macias - Piano

Melvin Macias was born in Havana, Cuba. He began to study piano at the young age of six at the prestigious Havana Conservatory Manuel Saumel. Both, his Grandfather and Father were well known Musicians in Cuba. Melvin’s parents decided to leave Cuba when he was 10 years old. He continued studying Classical piano in Miami. During his Teenage years his father introduced him to pop music, in specific Jazz. It came to his attention that he could express himself better with Jazz. In high school he joined the Jazz band and he had a Jazz combo that included the most advanced students from his class. During this time he was already starting to play Latin music in Miami along with his Dad. After High School he studied Jazz Improvisation with Mike Orta at Florida International University. In Addition, He became musical director for Orquesta America. During his time in Miami he had the opportunity to work with Latin artist like Roberto Torres, Celia Cruz, Nino Segarra, Tito Gomez, David Pabon, Franky Ruiz jr, Mariano Civico and Jimmy Bosch among others. He also was musical Director for an off-Broadway play called "Three Guys named Jose and una Mujer named Maria" that was being shown at the Miracle theater at Miracle Mile in Miami produced by Enrique Iglesia. Moreover, In 2001 he went on Tour with the world known Mexican singer and composer Juan Gabriel. A few years passed and the opportunity came for him to move to Las Vegas. He worked in Vegas for 11 years at the Venetian Hotel and Casino as a pianist and musical lead for an Italian show called Carnevale di Venezia where they performed Italian Folk songs and Opera. About 6 years ago he began composing and decided to record an album that portrayed his life as well as his identity as a musician. The album goes by the name of "Reflections of Time". It consists of originals, Afro-Cuban Jazz tunes, straight ahead Jazz, ballads, and Brazilian music. Recently, Melvin has embarked on a new journey by moving to Nashville, TN. “I love Nashville, I love being in a place where being an artist is admire and respected by everyone and also a city brimming with great musicians and culture”



Will Padgett - Piano/Ukulele

Will Padgett is a jazz pianist, composer and producer from Franklin, TN, currently based in Nashville. He is the pianist for the award-winning Music City Big Band led by Casey Brefka, and is regularly called on to sit in for local and touring bands at Rudy’s Jazz Room, and across the South & Midwest as an events band keyboardist. His core repertoire of songs includes a wide array of American cultural cornerstones from all decades, from as far back as the 1920s, to modern styles of singer-songwriter, rock, folk, country, pop, funk, and musical theatre.

While establishing himself as a performing sideman, he also records and produces original music for Nashville’s flourishing independent music scene, and composes instrumental music for international music publishers based out of Nashville, LA, Dallas, and Fort Worth.

Will’s teaching style is fluid and driven directly by his students’ musical interest, modelled on the belief that our deepest learning occurs only when the subject of study is something which truly inspires us.
