Video Explanations & Help
A scientist has asked you to plot the following two functions:
y1 = 2 * x - 5
y2 = -0.3 * x^2 + 15
The domain for both functions is from -10 to 10: -10<=x<=10
The values of x must be equally spaced by 0.5
Your task is to plot both curves on the same graph.
Include a grid, title, x-axis description, y-axis description, and legend
It should look like the image to the right when you're done!
Your scientist has asked you to plot the Fahrenheit and Celsius temperature equivalents for temperatures in Kelvin that span from 0K to 400K
Your plot should label each temperature scale line graph so a legend can be added to the plot
As with all professional graphs, each axis should be labeled with the appropriate units which are not shown in the image below.
The graph should have a title and a grid for easier reading of the values
The research question is, "What is the one temperature that is the same in Fahrenheit and Celsius?"
Your task is
Research and add the line of code to create the fomula to convert from kelvin to celsius.
Add the line of code to show the plot after the file is run
A team launches a ping-pong ball using a catapult 5 different times at 5 different angles. The team records the distance traveled for each test run.
Your Colab Notebook contains a list 'a', which contains the 5 different pull back angles used for each of the 5 trials, and a list 'd', which contains the corresponding distance traveled for each trial.
Your job is to add the necessary lines of code to create a scatter plot based on this information! Make sure to properly label your graph!
Given a list of student exam scores, create the following:
a histogram of the score distribution
a pie chart of the letter grade distribution
Note: A list of the grades and a corresponding list of the number of students that received each letter grade are provided to you in the colab notebook for the pie chart!
Picture this: A wildlife conservation organization is monitoring the population of an endangered species of birds. With their help, the population is growing, and they want to know when the population will exceed 1000 in the area. They’ve asked you to graph the predicted population of the birds against the goal population of 1000!
We can assume that the bird population will follow the exponential growth rate equation P(t) = P0 * e^(rt)
Where…
P(t) - population at time t
P0 - initial population
r - growth rate (expressed as a decimal)
t - time
For the given bird population..
The initial population is 100 birds.
The growth rate is 30%.
The threshold at which the population will no longer be considered endangered is 1000 birds.
The conservation organization would like to see the population graphed over the course of the next 11 years, from year 0 to year 10.
Your job is to graph the actual bird population based on the exponential growth rate as a blue solid line with circle markers AND to graph a solid red horizontal line at the level of the threshold. (as shown in the image below!)
The Coefficient of Thermal Expansion (CTE) is the fractional change in length of a material per degree of temperature change. You are given measured CTE values for three different metals, and your job is to complete the following tasks:
Develop code to calculate and store the mean and standard deviation for the CTE values of copper, aluminum, and steel.
Research bar charts, error bars, and subplots. Add comments on how they work to make the plot desired.
Complete the bar chart code so that each bar shows the average CTE of each metal and contains error bars that show the variation (standard deviation) of the dataset.
Create a chart or graph that represents any data of your choosing in a meaningful way! You can choose any style you wish, but make sure it includes the following elements:
Title
Axis and category labels
Color and/or line style customization
Legend
