Now is the time to get cracking and put your heads together and work alongside the community partner and your mentor in order to get a working prototype before 1 October! Here is a guide and resources to help you through this journey.
At Engineering Good, we believe in making open-source assistive technology to maximise the impact of the solutions our innovators create. Open-source solutions allow the projects to live and thrive beyond the original creators. (Learn more about open-source here)
Any intellectual property developed under Tech For Good shall belong to EG. EG will use its best efforts to publish all intellectual property on open source platforms. The Community Partner and Innovator shall have a license to use such intellectual property under the following terms:

We encourage you to share as much information to allow the community to recreate, modify and repair your solution to suit their needs. Have more to share? Upload them to your team’s Google Drive!
Process of using the Prototyping Budget:
Mentors to sign off “Agreement for Transfer of Prototyping Budget” document and provide their PayNow number.
Mentors will receive S$300 prototyping budget via PayNow.
Team and Mentors to track their budget and expenses in their Bill of Materials (BOM) List
Transfer the remaining funds back to Engineering Good by 7 October 2022. EG’s UEN PayNow number: 201408320W
By 7 October 2022, submit to your EG Coordinator:
Your BOM List —mentors are to review and approve the BOM List
Your receipts — uploaded to your team's Google Drive folder
Transfer proof of remaining monies (Put your team name in the reference)
Your EG coordinator will review your submissions and contact you if there are any discrepancies.
These are the 2 documents you will need to submit at the end of the Festival by 7 October 2022.
Prototype Canvas: The templates in this canvas form the basic building blocks to share your project with the wider community.
These side quests act as an added bonus to appreciate the teams that consistently go above and beyond to display the trait.
Best Advocate - the louder the better! Everyone knows what the team is up to and the various information the team has learnt as well
(eg. have as many posts on social media as possible - quality over quantity though, etc.)
Most Resilient - if your dreams don’t scare you, they aren’t big enough. The team that strives for the most impressive solution and despite the challenges they TRY their best.
(eg. the team that documents many challenges and problems but continues to persist to make the best version of the prototype, etc.)
Most Empathetic - we know you care! The team understands the users needs the best and their solution displays that. Don’t forget to spread the love to fellow team members as well!
(eg. having more meetings with the users and CPs, solution clearly considers the user and their feelings as well, etc.)
Most Impactful - your solution will revolutionize the world, Singapore and the community! This can come through the novelty, feasibility and how well your solution answers the problem
(eg. out-of-box thinking, lowest barrier of access, easy to manufacture, etc.)
How to complete your quest? Share with us your journey and learnings on your social media accounts, that's how we will assess and award the chosen teams.
The chosen ones will get the opportunity to tour the offices of glocal tech giants: Google, Home Team X, AWS and Lazada. Access insider knowledge with an Ask-Me-Anything session over lunch: learn what it takes to join them and how you can be a mover-and-shaker in the tech world.
As part of promoting the team’s good work and Engineering Good’s goodwill in the community, we would like innovators to use Instagram in engaging the community at hand.
Innovators are encouraged to post photos, videos or, stream and share other content relating to their Tech For Good progress within their network.
In the spirit of inclusion, we also like innovators to attempt to include alternative text for images or closed captions (manually transcribed preferred) in reels or videos. These can be done via the following Hashtags.
Our official hashtags includes
#techforgoodsg2022 #techforgoodsg #T4G2022 #engineeringgood #digitaldivide #assistivetech #accessibility #disability
Do use a hashtag for your team/school (e.g. #school)
Do tag your respective Community Partner’s account as well

We encourage innovators to use social media as a means to capture warm-fuzzy moments, such as:
Photos of sketches, team meetings, team lunches,
Selfies of team meetings,
Sharing of reels, videos of team meet-ups,
Photos of prototype,
Timelapses of progress,
Recaps of team progress,
Sharing of Tech For Good,
how prototype considers the use case of the community partner
sharing of purpose of the prototype
