IES processes personal data related to you for the purpose of analysing our website to enhance its performance, as well as for marketing and advertising purposes.
What types of personal data does IES collect about me when I visit the website?
The personal data processed are:
IP-addresses
User identifiers, which include anonymous identifiers like Client ID or User ID;
Device information, which includes data about the user's device, such as device type, operating system, and browser;
Location data, which is not collected directly, but is estimated based on other parameters;
Demographics data, including gender and age, which are not collected directly, but are estimated based on other parameters; such as behaviour patterns of the user, device data and contextual data.
Interests data: User's interests, derived from their online activities, can hint at their demographic profile. For instance, certain hobbies or purchases may be more prevalent in specific age or gender groups.
Contextual data: This includes data from the type of content consumed. If a user frequently visits pages or engages with content that statistically aligns with a particular demographic, Google Analytics 4 might use this to estimate demographics.
Browsing behaviour data, including records of pages visited, time spent on pages, search queries, and interactions with site content;
Interests data: User's interests, derived from their online activities, can hint at their demographic profile. For instance, certain hobbies or purchases may be more prevalent in specific age or gender groups.
Source Data, including information on how the user arrived at the site (e.g., search engine, direct URL, referral sites), and
Event Data, in case custom events to track specific interactions or behaviours on the website have been set up.
What is the legal basis for the processing of personal data that I provide when I visit the IES website?
The legal basis for processing the personal data you provide when visiting our website is your consent as a website visitor. IES only handles this personal data if you have consented to it.
How long will personal data be stored?
Your personal data is stored in our system (Google Analytics 4) for two months. If you withdraw your consent for IES to process your personal data, it will be deleted within this period.
Will IES share personal data regarding my website visit?
A select few individuals within IES's marketing and communications department, as well as a limited number of staff at the marketing agency employed by IES, will have access to your personal data.Â
What are the data subjects' rights according to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)?
If you're registered, you have the right to contact IES (privacy@engelska.se), the entity responsible for personal data, to access your data, request corrections, deletions, or data transfers, restrict processing, and object to processing. Will personal data be transferred to a so-called third country (countries outside the EU/EEA)?
The data will be processed and stored on Google servers located within the European Union. However, for specific processing activities, data may be transferred to the United States. It's important to note that Google is certified according to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (DPF), ensuring that such transfers are conducted in a safe and legal manner.
Where should I go if I want to file a complaint about IES' handling of personal data?
Complaints about the processing of personal data can be submitted directly to IES. We are dedicated to ensuring the correct handling of your personal data and welcome your feedback to improve our practices.
