Brittney is a first-time Resident Dean for COSMOS this summer but is no stranger to Residence Life. She has been in her role as an Assistant Director at UC San Diego for the last six years, and in Residence Life at multiple institutions for over a decade. She would go to jail for her mini golden doodle Stevie, teaches indoor spin classes for fun, and is starting year 3 of her doctorate program this fall to make sure she has NO free time. Brittney loves working with students and is so excited to work with the COSMOS crew this month!

My name is Rubia Hernandez (she/her/s/ella) and I am one of the Resident Deans for COSMOS this summer! I graduated from UCMerced with a B.A in Political Science and from SDSU with a Masters in Postsecondary Educational Leadership. I have been working at UC San Diego for the past 6 years within residence life, ensuring that students living with us on campus get the most of their experience here and have all the right support or resources. Fun Fact: My name means blonde in Spanish! I love reading, playing video games, watching movies, and exploring San Diego with my pup named Bagel. I’m excited to be part of the COSMOS community this summer and to create a fun and safe home away from home for your COSMOS students.

Senior Resident Assistant

My name is Erica Sanchez and I am an upcoming fifth-year majoring in Clinical Psychology with a minor in General Biology. I am a first-generation Mexican-American and was president of UCSD's Ballet Folklorico La Joya de Mexico this past year. I am going into my third year as a Resident Assistant for Revelle College, and last year was my first year as an RA for COSMOS. My favorite part of COSMOS was hosting daily programs for students and helping them build community with one another; therefore, I am super excited to rejoin the team this year as Senior RA! Aside from COSMOS, I am also involved in Flying Samaritans, which is a pre-med club that focuses on giving free medical and dental treatment to the community of Ensenada in Baja California.

Senior Resident Assistant

I'm Karar Aljadeed, a 5th year at UCSD, majoring in Human Biology and Clinical Psychology. With a keen interest in understanding the human body and mind, I aim to explore their intersection in the context of health and well-being. As an experienced Resident Assistant for the past three years, I have gained valuable insights into supporting and engaging with students. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to serve as a Senior Resident Assistant for the COSMOS program this summer, where I can apply my skills and create a positive and inclusive environment for the staff and students. Combining my academic pursuits and previous RA experience, I am dedicated to promoting their well-being and ensuring a memorable experience during the program! 

Hello! My name is Max, and I am one of the Senior Resident Advisors for COSMOS this summer. I am a recent UC San Diego graduate with a degree in Neurobiology and a minor in Music. I have worked in residential life on campus for the past 3 years as a Resident Advisor, and will serve as a Resident Advisor in Revelle College again next year while I continue my education as a Master's student. I'm super excited to be a part of COSMOS and can't wait to meet everyone!
