Lipika is a senior graduating with a B.S. in Bioengineering: Biotechnology at UCSD. Her career interests include patient care and clinical application of the bioengineering concepts and techniques she acquired during her undergraduate career. Lipika worked with Dr. Wonkyu Ju to study the mechanisms of neurodegeneration in glaucoma. During the COVID pandemic, she worked for a few biotech companies to administer validation experiments for COVID PCR test kits. Lipika joined Dr. Sah's lab as a senior design project student to contribute to the ongoing development of an ACL reconstruction surgical method. Starting Fall 2022, Lipika will be continuing her studies at UCSD to pursue a Master's in Bioengineering with Medical Specialization. Kanksha is graduating with her B.S. in Bioengineering: Biotechnology from UCSD in June. Her professional interests include tissue engineering and molecular biology research. She has explored these interests through on-campus research labs and programs. Kanksha joined the Zengler Lab her second year, where she led independent and collaborative projects to construct genomic-scale metabolic models for microbial applications. She has also worked at the Qualcomm Institute Calit2 Nano3 Cleanroom for nanofabrication and photolithography projects. Kanksha began working with Dr. Robert L. Sah and the Cartilage Tissue Engineering Lab through the senior design project. After graduation, Kanksha will work at the Stanford School of Medicine Laboratory for Cell and Gene Medicine! Sam is a graduating senior at UCSD Revelle College majoring in Bioengineering: Bioinformatics with a pre-med focus and a concentration in Computer Science. Sam's interests in biomedical research include both the fields of bioengineering and of bioinformatics. He has been working at the Cartilage Tissue Engineering Lab with Dr. Robert L. Sah since his freshman year on various projects, including the quantitative analysis of marine animal teeth, proteomics of musculoskeletal tissues and fluids, and this senior design project of the ACL reconstruction using the Rabbit Model. Sam is also working at the Alexandrov Lab where he develops and benchmarks a state-of-the-art Mutational Signature Assignment tool that is able to accurately assign cancer contributing factors based on patients' mutation patterns. After graduation, Sam will continue his pre-med training in the Master of Biomedical Informatics program at Harvard Medical School. Contact: xiw020@ucsd.edu!
