We choose to model the ketogenic and glucogenic pathways in the liver. This meant that we would be trying to model all of the pathways except the ones involved in the lipid degradation and synthesis. Here on the left is the order the pathways were scoped to be build out of the ketogenic and glucogenic pathways.
Here is an example of how the biochemistry of the liver is translated into a biosystem, a network of interconnected biochemical reaction in the liver. Here is the pathway the liver model currently models, Glycogenolysis. This is just ONE pathway out of the ones highlighted above for the project scope. Glycogenolysis is combination of Glycolysis and Glycogen Degradation.
