Past week accomplishments:
Organized weekly sponsor meetings for the quarter
Looked into possible air pumps we might be able to use
Received package of FSR that can be tested, but expected to give the same results
Started researching alternatives (load cells, flexion sensors)
Sponsor Feedback:
Like the current design (accordion style with the foam insert) but open to changing it
Can help to determine ideal inflation shape
Will update on FSR not working and using pump rather than a “hydraulic” system
Instructor Feedback from last week:
Reach out to Professor Tolley to get help on inflation shape
Determine balloon shape to maximize horizontal movement
What questions should be asked?
Look into safety regulations that might be of concern
Incorporate some sort of safety response for the system
Current Concerns:
How should we approach the balloon shape design? Is what we have good enough?
Use mold or laser cut and glue?
Will the air pump/valve be necessary
Next Steps:
Test out the shipment of FSR’s to determine feasibility (Philip)
Purchase and begin testing on the air pumps/vales to see power consumption and limits (Karie)
Brainstorm designs for inflatable balloon to get maximum achievable height (Ryan and Udai)
Design circuitry and schematics of overall system design (Ryan)
