Past week accomplishments:
Conducted air input vs height change test for the prototype membrane (Karie)
Developed CAD models of current prototype to do simulation testing later (Udai)
Planned with sponsor to have a neck model 3D printed for risk analysis (Ryan)
Worked with pressure sensor to see compatibility with Arduino (Philip)
Sponsor Feedback:
Silicone material is sufficient to make the device biocompatible
Sending someone into the Sim Center is costly and not worthwhile
Can setup a test day later next quarter
Will send over CAT scan images to determine general geometry of model
Air input should be small so an actuator attached to a air filled syringe should suffice
Envisions the inflatable balloon to be disposable or “From a package”
Group seems on track and progressing
Instructor Feedback from last week:
Get feedback from sponsor to determine material and component requirements
Current Concerns:
Wireless possible? Bluetooth?
Sensor placement - will discuss with sponsor
Next Steps:
Design system layout and do CAD modeling (Ryan)
Finish pressure sensor initial testing to determine resolution and feasibility (Philip)
Setup an assembly with all the cad parts to begin force simulation on neck (Udai, Ryan)
Assemble physical prototype, sensor, and 3D neck model to do physical testing (Karie)
Work on risk analysis presentation and individual component analysis (All)
