Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.
a basic housing CAD model is being created and edited
Nozzle testing is underway to see if a 10 in nozzle is viable
turkey carving retrofitting is being done to stabilize the larger blades
Accomplishments from Previous Week
Found that machining an 11 in. blade is feasible
Collection device's internal netting is an effective way to negate the green damage caused by increased suction needed for a larger nozzle
Goals for Next Week (list names after each item). Use specific and measurable objectives.
Refining and editing prototype CAD (Siu Lim)
Testing the 10 in. 3-D printed Nozzle (Jacob)
Adjusting the 11 in. blade to fit the trimmer (Ricky)
Retrofitting trimmer to work with out setup (Ivan)
Filling out more website and report sections (Riley)
Sponsor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments (indicate date of comments and if via email or in person)
Netting inside the shop vac has proven adequately effective, but it isn't perfect. Collection could be improved to harm greens a little less (1/26 in person)
Sponsor wants to stick with a container with wheels on the bottom for easier collection (1/26 in person)
Instructor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments (indicate date of comments and if via email or in person)
Be sure to leave room on 3D printed parts for machining (1/23 in person)
Cad drawings have undersized holes for more precision drilling
Stick with AC for now (1/23 in person)
Retrofitting trimmer to work with a DC power supply has been pushed to a stretch goal

Risks and Areas of Concern
The larger blades cause the carver to wobble and create an uneven and inconsistent cutting plane.
We are working to stabilize blades
Running the vacuum at full power (needed to use the large nozzle) is rough on the greens.
Test with internal netting has proven adequately successful but could still be improved
Resources or Information Required but not Available
None
Schedule
Nozzle design should be decided on this week
With a nozzle design decided on, a house to integrate the trimmer and nozzle can begin
Budget (list amount spent and amount remaining)
$0 spent
$4,658.53 remaining
Progress on Report and Webpage
Impact on society portion of the Report has been written
no Webpage progress since last week
