Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.
Collection Bin in final stages of testing
Testing cushion for inside of collection bin (Riley, Jacob, Ricky)
finding a better hose (Jacob)
Testing blades with the turkey carver (Ivan, Siu lim)
Accomplishments from Previous Week
Decided on the size of our collection bin for the microgreens
Designed a 10 inch blade to test with the turkey carver
Goals for Next Week (list names after each item). Use specific and measurable objectives.
Test inserts in the collection bin to soften the impact of the falling greens (Riley, Jacob, Ricky)
Find a better hose for the shop vac (Jacob)
Test the blade to see if it works well (Ivan, Siu Lim)
modify mechanism to have one stationary blade on reciprocating (Ivan, Siu Lim, Ricky)
Sponsor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments (indicate date of comments and if via email or in person)
Primary goal is get a working blade to test our device (1/19 in person)
we will look to buy blades that we need instead of designing them
Stretch goal of making reproducable blade for the project (1/19 in person)
If we get a functional device early we can spend our time trying to make a blade designed specfially for our device
Softening green impact (1/19 in person)
we are testing some internal netting to see if we can create a gentler environment
Instructor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments (indicate date of comments and if via email or in person)
Focus on getting a functional blade instead of creating your own which could take the rest of the quarter (1/16 in person)
we brought this up with our sponsor and he agreed. Focus will shift to finding a blade that works well with turkey carver

Risks and Areas of Concern
The dual reciprocating blade of the turkey carver is unnecessarily violent for the greens. We're hoping to modify the mechanism to make it on stationary blade and one reciprocating blade
