Laryngoscopy Research Team
Updates:
Met with last year student Alex to discuss improvements
Decided on cable sizing for the system
Met with Professor Yip, decided to redesign using aluminum
Began CAD for aluminum redesign
Emailed Machine shops about water jet cutting, can do for us
Confirmed Motors are sized correctly
High Priority
Material Selection: Arguably the most important decision on design. Will go with either aluminum, wood, or plywood. Made choice to use aluminum
Adjustments made to Wooden Haptics design. This includes updating the tensioners, and adding fasteners to the current design, as well as reducing the sizing of much of the plywood since it will be made using aluminum.
Force/Torque calculations: Have been started, need to validate.
Run simulations on redesigned pieces to ensure they will meet structural needs
Finish Risk Reduction Presentation
Cut redesigned arm out of plywood for prototyping purposes

Find permanent home for design
Understand/validate/modify previous code used by last years team.
Begin researching 6th DOF
Find Object tracker/ relative IMU system
