Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.
3 dof test stand awaiting tape to attach hall effect sensors
deliverable CAD design underway
Researching sensors and components for deliverable stage
Altering code and circuits for switch to Arduino Due (from Uno)
Accomplishments from Previous Week
Parts for 3dof prototype ordered, some arrived
CAD of deliverable has began
Discovered need to switch flexures due to results of spring analysis
Goals for Next Week (list names after each item). Use specific and measurable objectives.
Finalize CAD of deliverable (Carl & Ben)
First draft of PCB to be approved by sponsor (Kyle & ?)
Component selection for PCB electronics (Eder)
Bias springs selected for final design (Chad)
Sponsor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments (indicate date of comments and if via email or in person)
Sponsor prefers using a 'shelf' for stage to 'rest' on in case of flexure overloading instead of greater FOS by thicker SMA wires
Comments on CAD
Adjustable SMA tension
Maximum flexure exposed
Consider set screws for flexure mounting instead of clamp
PCB is a MUST for deliverable
Instructor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments (indicate date of comments and if via email or in person)
Need better presentation or more effective communication. Use clear color coded diagrams and clearly label all components. Need to have better description of motivation for project and overall objectives. Make clear what deliverable will be presented.
Comments from Other Students in the Class (indicate date of comments and if via email or in person)
haven't received comments from presentation yet.
Risks and Areas of Concern
PCB & machining stage have long lead time, any design changes after parts are made could compromise schedule
Worried about CNC capabilities regarding time constraints, tolerances, tapping holes, and milling features.
Resources or Information Required but not Available
None currently.
