Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.
1DoF model constructed
Accomplishments from Previous Week
Team mutually decided to use steel wire flexure bearings in design.
Goals for Next Week (list names after each item). Use specific and measurable objectives.
Finish CAD model of 3 wire, 3 DOF model
Sponsor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments (indicate date of comments and if via email or in person)
Sponsor wanted to see the 1-DOF testbed that we would develop, and was interested in how our bearing choices would turn out.
Instructor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments (indicate date of comments and if via email or in person)
Should fabricate a 1-DOF model to develop a test bed to become more familiar with operation and testing of the device (1-14-2013). A 1-DOF model was constructed, tested with open loop control, and presented to Delta Design.
Risks and Areas of Concern
Programming a sensor using an i2c programming language to give feedback to our c-based development board (Arduino). This digital hall sensor was replaced with an analog hall sensor in our 1-DOF model.
Finding the ideal physical dimensions of thesteel wire that will provide us with an optimal balance of bending and axial stiffness.
Schedule
Develop specific test beds for different diameters of steel wire.
Build full square mock-up of 3 wire design for testing.
Design electrical circuit and components for 3 wire design.
Budget (list amount spent and amount remaining)
Spent ~$50
Left: ~$2,450
