Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.
Mechanical advantage ideas are being compiled
Bearing solutions are in the process of being compiled
CAD models are in the works for various configurations
Accomplishments from Previous Week
Met with Delta Design (again)
Met with the professor
Basic CAD models produced
Learned more information on the squiggle motor itself
Goals for Next Week (list names after each item). Use specific and measurable objectives.
PUT TOGETHER PRESENTATION (whole team)
Mechanical advantage ideas (Razi & James)
Bearing solutions (Sean & Dylan & Julie)
Paperwork finalized (Julie)

Monday (3/11), In person with Keith Emery and Jim Babcock, at Delta Design
Logistics
agreed to skip meeting finals week and spring break
need to password protect website
Delta would like for us to send the final presentation to them to look over first
Jim is taking care of the budget form
Keith sent out a solidworks email to the team with squiggle motor and stage CAD
Design Concepting
Delta will check the 50 lb force requirement for the device and see if that is still a realistic design consideration
flexures will be an option for moving the stages around. The team discussed and looked at another flexure design that Delta has patented.
flexures are useful in overcoming friction, setting a home position
Keith and Jim will check on the desired force output from the mechanical advantage
Jim verified that the shaft through the motor spins as it is translated by the motor. This will play into or potentially limit our design for mechanical advantage

Risks and Areas of Concern
50 lb of force: is this realistic, overstated, or understated?
Configuring spacing and wall thickness with the motors and mechanical advantage
Resources or Information Required but not Available
Inquiry about wire EDM machining on campus; can we use this method to make flexures?
Schedule
Final presentation next Tuesday: the group will need to come together and pick out the best ideas for mechanical advantage. We will then need to see if these ideas can be shrunk down and fit in to the 52 square mm space that Delta requires
Updated Gantt chart.
Budget (list amount spent and amount remaining)
Budget was set by Jim at $3500
Progress on Report and Webpage
Weekly sections have been updated, inquiry about password protection sent to Isaiah, team contact information updated and accurate.
