Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.
All the plumbing is done.
The temperature sensors have been installed and connected to the data logger (Xavier, Nadim, Cara)
Flow meters have been connected/soldered (Xavier)
Temperature and flow meters have been verified to be working and connected (Chris)
Electrical work order already processed. Electrician will be coming in on Thurs (2/16).
Accomplishments from Previous Week
Temperature sensors and flow meters soldered and installed. (Xavier, Nadim, Cara)
Calibrate and verify that sensors are logging data and is being recorded online (Chris)
Electrical transducers and FlexSmart Module to connect them to data logger has been ordered (Cara)
Residential CAD model completed. (Sean, Xavier)
Labview simulation almost done. Awaiting data for Heat Pump part of the simulation (Chris, Nadim)
Goals for Next Week (list names after each item). Use specific and measurable objectives.
Have insulation installed onto the hot water pipes by end of this week. (Sean)
Start testing different water temperatures to find out how long it takes to cool/heat water up/down. (Everyone)
Finish Labview simulation after running a few tests (Chris, Nadim)

Insulation should be installed on hot water pipes. Sean will be buying insulation from Home Depot either on 2/15 or 2/16 and we will install soon.
Install the remaining 2 temperature sensors into to hot water tank and the incoming cold water pipe. We will install before the end of this week
Instructor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments
Professor mentioned that in order to perform the simulation, analysis can be done on R-134a. By looking at its heat capacity when it is cooled, it can be deduced how much energy will be transferred. We are still looking into that, but that has taken a backseat as preparations for the heat pump have been made since the plumbing has just finished and the electricity will be installed soon. With the experimental apparatus nearing completion, we are hoping to use experimental data for the simulation.
