Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.
Finalizing design concept.
Finalizing component preference for purchasing critical items.
Accomplishments from Previous Week
New concept design. Circular manifold design is no good.
Gained knowledge on different materials for system components.
Gained knowledge on pumps capabilities.
Met with Steve Roberts to discuss electrical components of project.
Goals for Next Week (list names after each item). Use specific and measurable objectives.
Order Pumps
Order raw materials for tubes and manifold
Begin circuit design for automation.
Sponsor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments (indicate date of comments and if via email or in person)
Each outlet requires relatively similar flow rate therefore, circular manifold concept is no good.
New product concept was discussed and Dimitri is doing analysis on that (Dome Protector).
Instructor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments (indicate date of comments and if via email or in person)
Conduct test to see flow rate at each outlet with the circular manifold concept.
We conducted tests of the peristaltic pumps.
Started constructing model to test flow rate, but stopped due to new concept idea.
Comments from Other Students in the Class (indicate date of comments and if via email or in person)
Larger dome.
Changing diameter tubes to regulate flow rate.
Different materials (stronger/more rigid/flexible).
Risks and Areas of Concern
Dome Protector fabrication
Sampling tray (outsource or fabrication)
User interface
Electrical component
Resources or Information Required but not Available
Fabrication methods for Dome Protector
Schedule
Next week purchase pumps and raw materials for tubing/manifold
Explore fabrication methods for Dome Protector
Research electrical components to purchase (LCD, buttons, housing material (acrylic?))
Budget (list amount spent and amount remaining)
$23 at Home Depot for modelling materials
