Endicott College defines the academic year as July 1st to June 30th. This includes the fall semester, winter intersessions, spring semester, and summer sessions.
Academic Advisor
An Academic Advisor can help students: Understand how degree programs can help meet your career/academic goals. Identify program requirements and plan appropriate course schedules. Make changes to class schedules.
Academic Calendar
The official calendar of Endicott College that provides dates and deadlines related to the academic year.
Academic Catalog
The Catalog contains the specific requirements necessary for all of the majors, minors and degree programs at the College.
Administrative withdrawal from the College may result for the following reasons:
1. Failure to pay required fees.
2. When a student is absent from classes for more than three weeks.
3. If a student fails to return for a subsequent semester without appropriate notifications.
4. If the student demonstrates that they are unable to adequately participate in the academic environment.
5. If a student presents a threat to others or interferes with the responsibility of the College to provide a safe environment for the community.
An administrative withdrawal constitutes a complete withdrawal from all courses, and a grade of “W” is recorded on the academic transcript. Students who officially withdraw may be granted a refund of tuition, room, and board according to the published policies of the College. Students who are dismissed due to disciplinary action will not be entitled to any refund. A formal request for readmission must be submitted to the Provost Office.
The following numbers of earned credits determine the student’s class designation.
Freshman 0 - 29.9
Sophomore 30 - 59.9
Junior 60 - 89.9
Senior 90 and up
Cleared for Registration
Cleared for Registration means that students have contacted their academic advisor and are cleared to register for their selected courses.
The total number of credit hours taken in a semester. The average course load for any semester 12 to 18 (12 is the minimum for a student to be considered a full time residential student, 18 is the maximum covered by tuition).
Refers to the number of credits or units earned by successfully completing a course. This is approximately equal to the number of hours the class meets per week; also referred to as semester hours.
Free Electives
Some majors require Free Elective credits, and these may be satisfied by ANY courses in the College's curriculum. Students are encouraged to use Free Electives to fulfill minor requirements and to explore disciplines outside their major.
Full-time student
At Endicott college, a full-time student is a student enrolled in at least 12 credits, or 4, 3-credit courses.
General Education Electives
In order to fulfill Endicott’s General Education requirements, students must complete three credits in each of the eight thematic categories. In addition, students must complete twelve credits of general electives outside of their major and concentration requirements. These four electives, two of which must be above the 100 level, may be taken from the thematic categories or from other areas of the College wide curriculum. The general electives, as well as the courses associated with the thematic categories, may be used to fulfill minor requirements.
Grade Point Average
A grade point average is a number representing the average value of the accumulated final grades earned in courses over time.
A student may discuss the possibility of an incomplete in a course as a result of illness or other extenuating life circumstances. However, he or she must have completed all but the last one-fifth of the semester and must be in good academic standing in the class. The faculty retains the right to decide whether or not an incomplete is appropriate based on the student’s performance in the class and the nature of the missing assignments. If an incomplete is granted, the faculty will complete the online Incomplete Grade Form, which serves as a contract between both parties and which the faculty will submit to the registrar. The student must complete all missing work in accordance with the agreed upon timeline recorded on the form but no later than seven weeks after the last date of the class for graduate and professional studies programs, or by the second week of classes in the subsequent fall or spring semester for traditional undergraduate programs. Failure to submit assignments by the specified deadline will result in a failing grade for the course. If faculty do not submit a Change of Grade form, the Incomplete grade will result in an F automatically.
A leave of absence provides a student with the ability to temporarily leave for the remainder of the current semester. A student will then be awarded "W" in all of their classes. A leave of absence will hold a student's place in their program for up to one year, as well as maintain access to their Endicott email for ease of communication while away from campus. To initiate this process, the student must email success@endicott.edu.
Part-time student
At Endicott college, a part-time student is a student enrolled in under 12 credits.
Pre-Registration Meeting

An unofficial transcript is a copy of the official
A student can order a copy of their unofficial transcript by going to the Registrar's website.
A withdrawal is a formal end to the student's time at Endicott. When a student withdraws from the College, they immediately loose access to all accounts and must request readmittance if they choose to return at a later date. To initiate this process, the student must email success@endicott.edu.
If a student withdraws from a course before the tenth week of the semester, a grade of “W” (withdrawn) is entered on the permanent record. The grade is not averaged in the GPA, but it is counted in the number of credits attempted. A grade of W appears on the transcript but is not calculated into the GPA. To withdraw from a course, the student should initiate this on WorkDay.
