The TIF teachers in Elementary & Secondary Schools and Outreach & Social Affairs Schools will be supported by the entire ICT Team, Lauren Lopez, François Dupraz and David Servello throughout the year by email, videoconferencing, and in-person. The main role of the TIF is to experiment with innovative pedagogy to enhance the curriculum, students’ engagement and learning.
It is important to remember that the TIF teacher does not have to teach a particular subject, but be open to integrating ICT in their classroom and collaborate with other teachers in the school to promote the development of the digital competency. Lastly, it is hoped that the TIF teacher will share their knowledge, resources, and creative ideas with their peers. Field technicians will be the main contact for technical support on the tools while the ICT consultants will be available to support the TIF teacher pedagogically.
Role of the Tech Integration Facilitators
As in previous years, we will be offering professional development and release time to Technology Integration Facilitators (TIF). We will continue to build our skills set in all aspects of the Digital Competency Framework. As we are moving forward, the role of the TIF teachers has to adapt to new realities and constraints we are facing. Therefore, the role of the in-house TIF teacher in 2026-27 includes:
attending the Fall meeting
participating in professional development on specific elements pertaining to the digital competency framework,
sharing information regarding ICT resources or PD opportunities with the school's teaching staff.
