9:00 AM -  2:00 PM Orientation & Move-in | Main Entrance

When you arrive, park at the front of the main building and enter through the front entrance.  We will have greeters there to help you along the way.   From here, you will walk through the registration process, including check-in with Admissions. 

9:00 AM -  2:00 PM Student Accounts/Financial Aid/ ID Cards | Classroom B and C / FinAid Office

Each student who has not already met their obligations with Student Accounts and Financial Aid will need to do so before moving into the Residence Halls. Students will also need to stop by Classroom B to pick-up their ID card. 

9:00 AM -  2:00 PM Residence Halls Open for Move-In | Residence Halls

Students will head back to their cars and follow the signs around to the back of the building where you will begin the move-in process. You will check-in here with our Reslife team who will assist with the move-in process along with our Emmaus movers!

9:00 AM -  2:00 PM Technology Registration | IT Office Smart Ground

After you arrive and get unpacked, please stop by the IT offices on Smart Ground to register any devices that will access the Emmaus network. All devices must be registered in order to connect. If you have any questions, contact the IT Department ithelpdesk@emmaus.edu

11:30 AM - 1:00 PM Lunch | Robbie Pile Dining Hall

All new students and families are welcome to have their first meal in the Robbie Pile Dining Hall. 

2:00 PM - 3:00 PM Student Involvement Fair | Coffee Bean

Students will have a chance to talk with campus organizations and hear about ways to get involved on campus. 

5:30 PM - 6:15 PM  Dinner | Robbie Pile Dining Hall

Students must begin using their Student I.D. to swipe in for dinner. Families are welcome to eat at the posted dining hall rate. 

7:00 PM Opening Welcome and Worship | Glock Auditorium 

Special Prayer and Worship Service for new students and families.

Meet Student Engagement and ResLife staff for a fun and engaging time including activities and important Residence Hall information. Non-resident students have been assigned to a floor for this event.

You’re about to enter a unique learning culture, and this session will prepare you for the blessings and challenges that await you. Come with questions about what it’s like to be an Emmaus student!

12:30 PM - 5:00 PM| Preparing for Academic Success  | Glock Auditorium; Computer Classroom; Faculty Offices; Library

Spend the afternoon getting ready for your Emmaus academic experience! You’ll connect with your faculty advisor, make sure your fall course schedule is ready to go, and explore the Library and other resources that will support you throughout your time at Emmaus. Some students will also complete placement and Bible knowledge assessments designed to help us understand where you’re starting so we can help you make the most of your academic journey. By the end of the afternoon, you’ll be ready to start your first semester with confidence! 

7:00 PM City-Wide Scavenger Hunt | Glock Auditorium

Connect with your fellow new students and explore Dubuque as you participate in a city-wide scavenger hunt.  Sponsored by the Emmaus Student Union.

8:30 PM Faculty Homes

This will be a great time to connect with and to get to know some of your faculty and for them to get to know you. You will be divided up into groups of 12-15 students for this event and meet your Bro/Sis floor.

9:00 AM - 12:00 PM Church

Attend a local church of your choosing. A directory of churches is provided in your welcome packet. Go with your roommate, floor, or new friends.

1:30 PM - 2:30 PM Off-Campus Student Meet and Greet | Coffee Bean

Come out and connect with fellow off-campus students, hear from ESU on how to stay connected and enjoy some free coffee!

3:00 PM - 4:00 PM International Student, Missionary Kid, and Third-Culture Kid Meet and Greet | Coffee Bean

Come out and connect with fellow International, MK, and TCK students. Build community and hear from others about their experience! And get free coffee!

5:30 PM - 6:15 PM Dinner | Pile Dining Hall

7:00 PM Convocation | Marble Chapel

Our Convocation Ceremony is a time when faculty, staff, and students all come together for the first time to dedicate themselves to the high calling of service, teaching, and study. Students should dress business casual for this ceremony; no shorts or jeans.  Dessert Reception to follow in the Robbie Pile Dining Hall.
