This Open Education Resource was designed as part of a collaboration between students and professors at EMU (Eastern Michigan University) TESOL program and MBU (Matej Bel University)'s Anglistika and Amerikanistika program.
The goal of this resource is to highlight various dimensions of academic writing from sources that pose challenges for academic writers, especially those who are learning to write in the English as a Foreign Language (EFL) context.
Developers of the topics in writing from sources in this Open Education Resource are students of English at the University of Matej Bel in Slovakia and students of TESOL at Eastern Michigan University.
The main topics are built around the key dimensions of source use that are detailed in the "Teaching Effective Source Use: Classroom Approaches that Work" book by Mott-Smith, Tomaš, and Kostka (2017). Sample annotated student papers and various links to multimedia are also used to effectively illustrate particular concepts and skills.
