Projects:

Projects will be assigned throughout the semester. Specific instructions will be provided with each assignment. They typically involve more extensive work. They cover several objectives and are weighted more heavily than classwork. Projects require students to do work both inside and outside of class.

LABS

Dress appropriately for lab situations (no flip flops, school uniform with exception (oversized shirt), etc.). Ms. King will notify of labs one day in advance so that you may be prepared. Failure to participate in labs will result in a “0” for the lab activity.

SUPERVISED AGRICULTURAL EXPERIENCE (SAE)

Each student will develop and plan an SAE project in which they will spend at least 30 hours outside of class completing. We will discuss the SAE in detail during the first few weeks of the school year. This is a large portion of the student’s grade and will require some parent involvement and supervision. SAE paperwork will be placed on my teacher website for you to reference.

Attendance/Makeup Policy:

Students who have an excused absence have the privilege of making up missed work. Students must take responsibility to find out what work they missed. Students will be allowed one day plus the number of days absent to complete the assignments. Long standing due dates should be met on the day of return. Students must utilize the teacher’s tutoring hours to make-up tests or complete other assignments that require the student be at school to complete it. If a student misses the day before a test, but was present for the instruction of the material, that student will be expected to make up that test on the day of return, with no extension time. Test dates are announced well in advance of completion of a unit of study.

Classwork missed due to an illegal absence cannot be made-up. If grades were given during the illegal absence, the student will receive a zero for missed work.

FFA Participation: FFA Participation and Membership will give you extra points per every grading period. Membership is due mid-September details to follow. Dues are $15 but if you would like the membership package which includes dues and t-shirt it is $25
