Project 3: Bouncing Ball

Enjoy this animation of a golf ball that is trying to overcome its fear of being hit!
Initially, the golf ball is afraid to be hit and jumps over the golf club as it swings by. Eventually, it allows itself to be hit and flies off out of screen.
To highlight the animation techniques used in this project, the animation is slowed down a bit more than it realistically would be (well, you may call it slowed down, I call it exaggerated).
Animation Storyboard
A very rough storyboard of my animation.
(Maybe I need to take a drawing class in addition to the animation class)
Principles of Animation
I used numerous principles of animation in my project. These included 1. Squash and Stretch, 2. Anticipation, 3. Staging, 5. Follow Through, 7. Arc, and 8. Secondary Action. Some of these principles are highlighted in the image sequences below.
Examples of anticipation in my animation include the jump of the ball (pictured), anticipation of the swings, and the slowed down (exaggerated) aesthetic of the entire animation which builds anticipation.
I also made sure that the ball takes off in an arc after it gets hit. This is easier to view in the graph editor.

Below is the tutorial animation I worked on! Figured it was a waste not to keep it up.
Tutorial with Modification
A bouncing soccer ball that's been kicked into a pretty field with cherry trees and bamboo.
Enhancement 1
Soccer Ball
No longer is it a boring, gray ball! Now, the focus of the animation is a soccer ball.
Enhancement 2.1
Curved kick
Now the ball moves in a curved arc instead of a straight line.
Enhancement 2.2
Clockwise Rotation
The ball also rotates clockwise to explain the arc
Enhancement 3
Cherry Trees and Bamboo
The field has been populated with animated cherry trees and bamboo shoots.
