My art explores the unique and unloved creatures and plants of the world, and their overlooked beauty. When asked of a beautiful insect, most would say a butterfly, but what of their close relative the moth? Pests, gross, dull, these are the words most often used when describing these creatures. When asked of a beautiful plant, most woulddescribe a blooming flower, but what of the blooming mushroom? Disgusting, poisonous, slimy, these are the words most often used to describe these fungi. Both painted in a negative light by society, yet both hold such fragile beauty that is often overlooked.
