My life goals include earning a college degree, which will offer up many opportunities in the long run. I intend to continue learning in order to expand self knowledge. My short-term goal is to improve my professional skills through better communication. I may fulfill my short-term goal by connencting with colleagues and professors outside of my team and attending Fairfax County Public School events. My long-term goal is to form a non-profit sports team in a diverse society!
Working with various facilities has taught me how to adjust to changing circumstances and acquire new teaching approaches. As the oldest sibling, I have a great deal of compassion and empathy. Understanding and being patient with your students' needs and problems is essential in this field. I'd like to provide a safe and caring learning atmosphere in which to form meaningful connections with my students.
Growing up, I was a sibling with a patient of cancer. At the time, I was seven years old and had no idea how bad my brother's health condition was. I sincerely thank the entire Crestwood Elementary School community! The teachers ensured that my brothers and I had a great time at school no matter the circumstances. They stood by my family and I throughout this difficult period in our lives, and they never stopped till this day. Teachers I had never met would come to talk and offer assistance and support 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Walking into school back then was always the highlight of my day because of the teachers support and enthusiasm. Growing up, I never forgot what they did for us. Years passed, and teachers remained in touch. Almost 15 years later, I am still in contact with almost every teacher who has ever given me direction and support over the years. When I reflect on that challenging time period, I always consider the positive aspects. That was all of the teachers' support! I hope one day I can provide that counseel and assistance to another student. I want to make a difference in the way that I was given the opportunity.
Out of my four siblings, I am the oldest! I always took the initative as a child, offering assistance, guidance and instruction. My involvement in summer camps helped me along the path to become a CIT ( Counselor in Training). At the age of sixteen, I was able to secure a part-time job at a daycare/preschool thanks to my summer camp experince! I've been employed at various licensed daycare facilitys since the age of sixteen to grow my knowledge in all types of environments. I've formed such wonderful relationships with parents and children that I've become a regular babysitter for those families. I've dealt with children ranging from 6 months to 16 years old. Working with children was my first job, and I intend to continue working with them.
The first step toward making a change will be to become as well educated as possible. Being as informed as possible will allow me to making learning welcoming and enjoyable for all. Students will have a voice and the ability to fully influence their learning. Students will learn lasting lessons about the world and how to be good role models.
