A growth mindset is the belief that intelligence, skills, and abilities can be developed through effort, effective strategies, and feedback. Faculty who adopt a growth mindset foster resilience, persistence, and curiosity in themselves and their students.
In the classroom, this means encouraging students to view challenges as opportunities to learn, framing mistakes as part of the learning process, and promoting the idea that improvement is always possible with practice and support.
