Course Offerings

BUSINESS EDUCATION PHILOSOPHY

In Business Education courses, students will research, create and discuss the global and interpersonal relationships, techniques, attitudes and knowledge necessary to sustain ethical success in business or non-profits. MHS business courses strive to develop the student’s critical thinking, peer collaboration and communication skills that will help them design their best possible careers.


BUSINESS EDUCATION OBJECTIVES

  1. Students will learn about several business areas that provide lifelong consumer needs.

  2. Students will learn basic business principles in preparation for study at the collegiate level.

ADVERTISING & MARKETING

Grades 9 - 12

Semester - 2.5 credits

Advertising and marketing students will explore the creative and global world of branding, corporate social responsibility, social media campaigns, public relations and professional sales. Students will work individually and in teams to create and present numerous print, audio, and video content.



ENTREPRENEURSHIP

Course #722

Grades 9 - 12

Semester - 2.5 credits

This course will take our students through a step-by-step process of creating and operating a small business from scratch. Students will design a product or service business plan, while learning a broad range of business functions. The course culminates in Shark Tank ™ style presentation. Students also apply course learning in various individual and team projects.



INTRODUCTION TO BUSINESS

Semester - 2.5 credits

This course introduces students to a broad range of business or non-profit foundations including the evolution of business, strategy, career exploration, investments, leadership, and doing business with a global reach. Students will research and collaborate on numerous team and individual projects.
