Mathematical Model for Learning Languages

Mathematical Modeling

This project is an in progress project. It involves developing a mathematical model to understand the language learning process. The goal is to analyze language patterns and explore various sources of language input, which may exhibit inconsistency. The project aims to enhance our understanding of how individuals acquire language skills, inform effective teaching practices, predict language development trajectories, design language technologies, address language disorders, and promote multilingualism and intercultural communication. Through studying language learning models, the project seeks to advance our understanding of human cognition, support language education and technology development, address language-related challenges, and foster linguistic diversity in a globalized world.

This project was inspired by how we learn American Sign Language from sources that might not be completely fluent in the language and how that affects how we learn language.

Below is a PowerPoint presentation related to the beginning stages of this project.
