Introduction

Welcome to Math Signs! My name is Kira Morris. I graduated from the University of Arizona with two degrees in Mathematics and Deaf Studies Educational Interpreting. I will be pursuing my PhD in Mathematics Education from the University of Michigan starting in Fall 2024. With the help of some members of the Deaf community, mathematics mentors, and my own experiences in teaching/tutoring deaf students, I decided to create a website designed to provide mathematical resources for teachers of the deaf and American Sign Language interpreters. You might notice that there are only a few mathematical topics. This is because this website is a work in progress! I am hoping to continue to put out more and more resources in the future. If your grade or subject is not listed, check back again as more information is added.

Due to this being a work in progress, if you have any suggestions, comments, questions, etc. please provide them in this form. Also, if you are looking for any specific topic or subject, you can include them as well!

The goal is to provide the best resources for the interpreters and teachers in mathematics education as well as deaf students learning math. Your help is greatly appreciated.

**Some license was taken to adjust the signing of mathematical terms that were literal translations and adjusted it to more accurately represent the meaning of the word in a mathematical context**
