Mathematics Educator Appreciation Day 

I had the privilege of speaking at the 2024 MEAD conference hosted by the Center of Recruitment and Retention of Mathematics Teachers. Here you can see some insight into how to make math more visual.

Making Math More Visual

In-Person Group Work

During this session, teachers gathered in groups to brainstorm strategies for enhancing the visual aspects of mathematics instruction. Each group focused on a specific topic to delve into.

Some of the topics included Word Problems, Integers, Money to Decimals, Percentages, Interest, Multiplication, and Division.

Virtual Group Work

During this session, teachers were split into breakout rooms brainstorm strategies for enhancing the visual aspects of mathematics instruction. Each group focused on a specific topic to delve into.

This virtual session took place on Zoom. Teachers were randomly assigned to groups, ensuring a diverse range of perspectives from different grade levels and areas of expertise.

Some of the topics included Fractions, How to use gestures, Different activities for visual math, and Hands-On Visual Activities for Subtraction
