Into Reading
Kindergarten through fifth grades use the literacy program, Into Reading. It is a comprehensive literacy program that encompasses reading, word study, spelling, and Language. Into Reading offers an online component (ED) for both the parents and the students.
To access the website have students login to the Clever Portal or follow the directions below:
1. Please go your teacher's page
2. Locate ED
3. It should automatically populate all the necessary information--Login with Google
Reading Reflection Journals (RRJ)
Students will keep a Reading Reflection Journal within the classroom. Within the journal, the students will write me a letter explaining what they are currently reading by summarizing what they have read so far, include a text detail, and the strategy they used while reading. Students will receive two grades for each journal entry; reading and writing. Students may use what they are reading for the Reading Reflection Logs (RRL) to complete their Reading Reflection Journal for the week. Journal entries are completed at school, so the book they are currently reading will also need to be brought back and forth from school.
Scholastic Book Clubs
