Who are we? High school Jazz Ensemble.

How can you join? Auditions are in early October. You can listen to the morning announcements for date and time or check out the band website.

What experience is needed? You must audition on a prepared piece of music selected by Ms. Henson. Jazz improvisation is also required. Check the jazz band website for recordings of improvisation audition material.

What instruments are in a Jazz Band? The Knightjazz takes the following instruments: 2 Alto, 2tenor and 1 bari saxophones, 4 trombones, 4 trumpets, electric guitar, bass guitar, piano, drum set and percussion.

Some of the events we perform at: Holiday concerts at the Elementary schools, concerts at Elwood Library, Community Days, Winter concert, Festival of the Arts, Concert, Relay for Life, and Spring Concerts.

What kind of music does the jazz band perform? Big Band Swing, Bebop, Rock, Funk, and all types of Latin. You name it we play it.

When do we meet? Tuesday nights, 7:00 - 9:00 P.M. in the band room.
