Religion: We had chapel today and with a message from Mrs. Carlstrom about how our tongues can be used for good--to build up and support one another--or for evil--to tear one another down. The Bible passage read in chapel today came from James chapter 3 and talked about the destructive force of words that are said with ill intent, comparing them to a fire. How fitting, as we are seeing first hand the destructive force of a small spark and how it can have wide reaching effects. We are reminded to use our words for good, both in what we speak in person and also what we post online.
"5Likewise, the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. 6The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole body, sets the whole course of one’s life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell." James 3:5-6
