Welcome to our 7th Grade Class News. This will be updated periodically with any relevant or important news pertaining to 7th grade. Please be sure to DAILY check the homework tab for all student work due.
Any missed assignments are the student's responsibility to complete and turn in.
Upcoming Field Trip Information! Sign up to chaperone and be sure to return a signed permission slip along with the fee to be able to participate.
School CANCELED Wednesday, Jan.8th, 2025. There was NO SCHOOL Wednesday due to unsafe conditions for those traveling caused by high winds, power outages, and fires. Please pray for those affected by and helping to fight the fires.
Coin Wars this week! (10/7-10/11)
Monday - Bring quarters

Friday - Bring pennies or any coins! (half dollars, silver dollars, quarters, any loose change)
Friday is a half day; it also is the start of the Book Fair! Our class will walk through it and create a list of books they wish to purchase.
Dollar Dress Day this Friday! Bring your dollar to support student government and have a uniform free day.
Picture Day October 1st!
You don't have to wear your uniform, but dress nicely for picture day-it will be in the yearbook!
Don't forget your money with your order form it you want to buy pictures.
Spirit Day is THIS Monday, September 23rd!
Fundraiser at Panda Express! Between 4-7pm.

Education Sunday is THIS SUNDAY, September 22nd!
All students sing at the 9am service in the sanctuary. Attendance is required. Show up at 8:45am to prepare for Handbells.

Tomorrow (9/6) we will NOT run the mile. There will be NO P.E. due to student government speeches and the excessive heat.
It is a Dollar Dress Day (9/6), so bring your dollar to wear school appropriate, non-uniform clothes. (Otherwise it's regular uniform all day)
Tomorrow (8/30) we will run the mile. Come prepared with good running shoes and a full water bottle.
If you are reading this, you can receive a free homework pass if you are the first person to give Mr. Gross a message saying "The Class News says no homework for me." Do not tell anyone else about this, or they may beat you to it.

Our Varsity Boys Basketball team will be playing in the CA Lutheran Schools Basketball Championship tournament this weekend!
Their first game is on Saturday, March 8 at 9:00 a.m. in the lower gym at Orange Lutheran High School.
Come and cheer them on!
Ash Wednesday is this Wednesday, March 5
This Wednesday is Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent–a time for us to reflect on the journey Jesus took to the cross where He suffered and died for our sins. Vicar Les Schaefer will lead our chapel service and students will receive a cross of ashes to remind them of the suffering and death of Jesus.
You are welcome to join us for chapel at 8:30 a.m.
We also have an evening Ash Wednesday service at 7:00 p.m.
This Friday is a minimum day, so students will be dismissed at 12:00. There will be no hot lunch and day care will be available at cost. Students may wear casual dress.

Students will have the opportunity to go see the play, "The Diary of Anne Frank," performed at La Mirada Theatre during the school day on February 20th. This is a chance for them to see a book they have been studying in class come to life in a new medium, creating lasting memories.
Student attendance is required for both performances, as everyone has an important role in telling the story of Jesus' birth.

Join us on Monday, December 16 from 4-7 at TenRen's Tea Time for our next Spirit Night. Students may wear their Spirit Shirts that day, and if they attend Spirit Night, they can wear casual dress the following day. Proceeds for this Spirit Night go to Kindergarten.
See's Candy Fundraiser is happening! Ask family and friend to buy something or buy something for them for Christmas. Emmaus receives 50% of all sales. Alternatively, if you don't have a sweet tooth, consider just donating money.
Order forms are due December 3rd, the Tuesday we get back from Thanksgiving break.

Emmaus Lutheran School's Dinner & Auction
Seaside Soirée Coming Soon!
Tickets are now on sale for our Emmaus Dinner and Auction! This is a fundraiser for our school, so we hope to see you there ready to have fun and bid on some amazing items!
Tickets are $75 and can be purchased in the school office or via Vanco here: Emmaus Dinner and Auction Tickets. Tickets need to be purchased by November 7; after that the price goes up to $90.
Students may dress in casual dress this Friday if they have paid for dollar dress days ahead of time or if they bring in $1 this Friday. Proceeds go to student government.

Fall Festival October 25
Join us for our Fall Festival on October 25!
Students can dress in pirate or nautical attire, and there will be games, crafts, and activities from 3:00-6:00 p.m. We look forward to seeing everyone there for a fun-filled afternoon!
Parent/teacher conferences are happening this Thursday/Friday (10/17-18).
Thursday is a half day; free dress. No school Friday.
Book Fair ends Friday at noon.
Be sure to stop by before it closes to purchase some books and support our school.
