This choir is an introductory choir that focuses on the basic elements of a rehearsal and how to sing in 2 part harmony with other singers using proper singing technique (diction, tone, balance, and posture). Musicians in this group have weekly small group lessons so they can receive personalized feedback and help to improve their skills. They put on two formal concerts and typically perform in the talent shows as well. Singers in this group all sing in treble clef which helps them focus on pitch accuracy and tone as an ensemble.
This next level choir works on 3 part music which divides them into soprano, alto, and baritone. Musicians in 7th & 8th grade choir continue to work on enhancing their singing technique in their new registers while working to find balance in the group now that they are singing chords. They have small group lessons or solo lessons depending on their preference each week to work on their technique specifically geared towards their changing voices. This group puts on 3 formal concerts throughout the year and usually performs at the talent shows as well. Select members perform at honor choirs and festivals as well as Solo & Ensemble.
This elective choir is for high school musicians who love to sing and are ready to enhance their musicianship! They learn a variety of musical styles and languages while focusing on a mature vocal sound and blend within the choir. Musicians work on sight singing, rhythmic training, and music theory to ensure that all singers will be music literate by the end of their 4 years in choir. This group has small group or solo lessons each week to work on their individual skills. They put on many performances throughout the year; 3 formal concerts, talent shows, and the National Anthem at various sporting events, as well as Solo & Ensemble. Select members also perform around the midwest at honor choirs and festivals. Concert Choir also goes on optional performance tours; Disney in 2023 & 2016 and New York City in 2018.
This is an elite & auditioned opportunity for high school choral musicians. They met three times a week before school starts to work on contemporary/popular acapella arrangements. This group performs without a conductor and with handheld individual microphones! This group performs the National Anthem at various sporting events, talent shows, all the regular concerts and at Solo & Ensemble.
