Welcome to Elm Road

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to Elm Road Primary School. We are very much looking forward to working with you as your child becomes part of our school family.

At Elm Road we have high expectations of what your child will achieve during their time with us and we are delighted you will be joining us on that journey. We provide a range of opportunities and teaching experiences that will encourage your child to reach their full potential. Our exciting Early Years environment includes a substantial outdoor area that is the perfect place for your child to find out what they are capable of achieving.

You and your child are joining a community of learners and we work hard to encourage everybody to think about the contribution they make to it. As the children grow and develop, we like them to consider what part they can play in the wider and global community. This is made possible by showing a respect and understanding for themselves, each other and the wider environment.

There will be times when your child finds something difficult either emotionally socially or academically. We aim to develop your child’s resilience to deal with whatever life throws at them and to use the challenges they will face as learning opportunities for the future.

Now that you have been offered a place at Elm Road, you will shortly receive a Welcome Pack which contains further information about the school and includes the forms that need to be completed and returned to the school.

In the next few weeks, you will receive a information from our Early Years Team, introducing themselves and inviting you to sessions where you and your child can visit the school and find out more about life in Early Years.
