Please read the following information BEFORE signing up to participate in the Job Shadow Day event:
This event is designed for ECTC students to experience a "day in the life" of employees in various industries, preferably one that is related to their current CTE program of study. By signing up to participate in this program, students agree to abide by the guidelines set forth on this page as well as in the Job Shadow Day application packet that will be provided at a later date.
Guidelines:
To participate, students MUST:
Be a junior or senior enrolled in an ECTC program
Be 16 years of age or older
Have earned at least one College and Career Ready (CCR) indicator that is required to graduate (list of CCR indicators)
Provide their own transportation individually - students MAY NOT ride with other students outside of their household.
Sites will be located within 50 miles of 800 Kelly Fitzpatrick Drive, Wetumpka, AL 36092, and hosts will customize the time frame and length of shadow (ranging from 2 hours to a full school day).
Students must be approved to participate by the ECTC teacher in their program of study. Students must also be on track in coursework, have minimal absences, and exhibit appropriate behavior in and out of the classroom.
Students are not guaranteed a job shadow opportunity simply because they complete the interest form. This form allows the ECTC team to gather those students for a meeting to provide further details about the shadow opportunities as well as the application packet.
