Hello! I am Mary Jo Bugielski and I am beginning my 26th year here at Hawthorne School. I taught 4th grade for 19 years and this is my 7th year teaching 3rd grade.
I look forward to discovering all of the individual personalities, talents, and dreams of this 3th grade class throughout this school year. The parent-child-teacher connection is integral to success in school. I am here to support you and your child. Your child’s happiness and overall well being are priorities to me. I want them to feel safe and loved within the walls of our room and in our entire school.

I have a Bachelor of Science in Education from Eastern Illinois University and a Master of Educational Leadership from Benedictine University. I am married and I have four children. I love to be outside in my backyard perennial garden watering, pulling weeds, digging, planting, and planning. In the summer I collect monarch butterfly eggs and hatch them in my garage. I love animals and have two labs and one longhair cat.
