By completing the degree or certificate requirements, the student will acquire proficiency in traditional and electronic news gathering techniques and in analyzing and evaluating information. The student will be able to write a variety of publishable stories for electronic and print journalism and to apply principles of editing and publication design. The journalism major provides career opportunities in electronic journalism and in newspaper, magazine, advertising, public relations, and radio/television work.
