Dustin Maloney
Technical Director, Stage Direction Consultant
Originally from Sherwood Park, and a graduate of Archbishop Jordan, Mr. Dustin Maloney began teaching Drama and Technical Theatre in 1998. He has headed up the Archbishop Jordan Fine Arts programs since 2004, and currently serves as Fine Arts Lead. Previous to his current position, Mr. Maloney taught Drama, Technical Theatre and Design, Speech and English in Indiana, USA. He also held the position of Technical Director at Brown County Community Theatre in Brown County, Indiana.
Mr. Maloney currently teaches Drama 9, 10, 20 and 30, Performing Arts 25/35 and Technical Theatre 15, 25 and 35. He facilitates the ABJ Citadel Students' Club, advises ABJ Theatre's Improv Team, is affiliated with the ABJ Choral Program, has served on the Cappies of Greater Edmonton Steering Committee and is currently a Cappies Program mentor. In 2012 Mr. Maloney directed and produced an ABJ Fine Arts production of Celeste Raspanti's "I Never Saw Another Butterfly" at the Edinburgh Fringe Theatre Festival in Scotland.
Nevada Moes
Music Director, Stage Director, Vocal Coach
Mrs. Moes holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance and a Bachelor of Education, specializing in music and drama. With over 20 years of performing experience on stage, she brings experience and passion to her classrooms!
Her performing credits include: masterclasses of German lied with the esteemed Deen Larsen of the Schubert Institut, operatic roles with Mercury Opera and Opera Nuova, a role in the documentary 'Opera Underground - A Soundscape' and various musical theatre roles with Edmonton based companies. In addition to classical music and theatre, Mrs. Moes has also fronted pop, rock and country bands, writes music, and performs as a duo with her husband.
Teaching has always been an important part of Mrs. Moes' music career. She has taught in studios for ten years and runs her own studio business teaching singing, musical theatre, piano and music theory. Being a part of the incredible Fine Arts team at ABJ is a wonderful next step for Mrs. Moes and she's incredibly excited to work with ABJ's young artists!
Victoria Reid
Choreographer, Movement Director, Sponsorship Director
Victoria Reid is currently a teacher at ABJ in Fine Arts (Drama, Dance, Musical Theatre) and Math and is the choreographer and movement director for The Drowsy Chaperone. Mrs. Reid attended the University of Alberta and holds a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education, specializing in Drama and Mathematics. She has been a dancer for over 20 years in both the Calgary and Edmonton area and has trained in a variety of dance styles. Victoria has been a dance instructor and choreographer for dance and musicals for more than ten years. She is also the director of the Dance Collective Program at ABJ, with a program of more than 80 dancers. She looks forward to the audience streaming this very fun show and seeing it come to life in your very own living rooms! Mrs. Reid enjoyed the opportunity to study and learn the techniques of Black Bottom and Charleston dance genres for this show. “Why are we dancing? Our dreams are in tatters. Yes. Yes. But the tune is so infectious.” May this infectious music fill your soul and take you to a special place during these tough times.
