For all, the theatre is an oasis. For some, it is a calling. For many, it is a saving grace, and for Jacob, all three boxes have long been checked. He has been performing musical theatre since he was in grade 6, and has acted in such productions as Alice in Wonderland Jr, Willy Wonka Jr, and Bugsy Malone Jr during his time in the Performing Arts program at St. Theresa Catholic School. He has been a part of ABJ Fine Arts since his grade 9 year and has experience in the Drama and Musical Theatre programs. Jacob has been singing since the age of 11 and has been a member of the ABJ Mixed choir since his grade 9 year. Jacob would very much like to thank his family and friends for their eternal support, and all the teachers, members of the Technical Theatre crew, and fellow actors that have made “The Drowsy Chaperone” the most fabulous experience. Emily Taylor
Drowsy Chaperone
Emily has been an all-around ABJ Fine Arts member since her freshman year. She embraces all aspects of theatre, including musical theatre, drama, dance, choir, and technical theatre. Emily was recently costume designer for ABJ’s Drama 30 production, I Never Saw Another Butterfly and has taken part in the 2019 musical production of Band Geeks. Emily is eager to take the stage this year, but will miss performing with her peers and working with her teachers and mentors. She wishes everyone the cast and crew good luck in their future ventures. Farewell, and enjoy the show!

Brooke is a proud member of ABJ fine arts, and is extremely excited to be performing The Drowsy Chaperone. In the past, Brooke has performed in A Fairy Tale Ending, Band Geeks and most recently, I Never saw another Butterfly. She has performed on stage for over 9 years as a competitive dancer, and cannot wait for everyone to see the show. Enjoy!
Jonathan Gwozdz

Jonathan has been a part of the ABJ theatre program since his grade 10 year. He began taking musical theatre in grade 11 and has been part of the program ever since. He has been in past productions such as Fairytale Ending, and Band Geeks. Jonathan has begun pursuing a career in the voice acting industry and hopes that even after all that the ABJ theatre program has provided for him, that he can continue to entertain audiences through his voice. Although last year's production came to a close earlier than expected, he is hopeful that audiences enjoy the show this year.
Daxter Cornand

This is Daxter’s third year with the ABJ FIne Arts program. His love for being on stage first started when he played the role of Douglas Panch in our musical theatre 15 production of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. He also last had the role of Pavel Englanderova in ABJ’s drama 30 production of I Never Saw Another Butterfly. His passion for acting is also rivaled by a passion for being behind the curtains, where he was a sound designer for our drama 30 production of The Uninvited, and also set design for our last in-person drama 30 performance, Unity (1918). Daxter would like to give a special thanks to his tech team and fellow cast, who put their everything into making this musical possible.

Maddie is thrilled to be taking the stage in The Drowsy Chaperone, after taking part in last year's mainstage production of Band Geeks and her Musical Theatre 15 show The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. Maddie’s love of being on stage is shared with her passion for working behind the scenes, having previously worked on costumes, graphics, and props for Chicago, The Uninvited, Unity (1918), Band Geeks, and I Never Saw Another Butterfly. She would love to thank all of her student and teacher mentors and her phenomenal costume team for the incredible support and encouragement they’ve given her, along with the rest of the crew for their tireless work. Piper Giese

Piper has been performing on the stage since the age of 10. She had appeared in the local festival place show for 2 years. She has been in musical theatre and drama since grade 7 and has appeared in many school productions. Such as The Ugly Duckling, Hansel and Gretel, Shrek, The Greatest Showman, Pinocchio, I never saw another butterfly and currently The Drowsy Chaperone. Next summer, Piper will be attending Vancouver Film school as a student in the acting essentials program! Piper thanks all the cast, crew and teachers for making this all possible. Enjoy the show!
Mason Teierle

Mason began performing when he joined his school’s theatre program in grade 6, and quickly discovered why theatre was so popular. Mason has now been performing for six years, the last three of those with the ABJ theatre program. In grade 10 he worked with his class on Annie, until the show was unfortunately cancelled due to COVID. This year Mason has been quite enthused to get back to performing, and has thoroughly enjoyed the production process for The Drowsy Chaperone. Special thanks to the Technical Theatre crew for their hard work making this show go on, to the directors of the program, Mrs. Moes, Mrs. Reid, and Mr. Maloney, for all your help and guidance throughout this production, and a very special thanks to the wonderful cast for making the theatre such a safe space, of good vibes only. McKenna Ridiak

McKenna has been in theatre for 4 years, and has taken dance classes since the age of 4. McKenna is extremely passionate about theatre and everything that comes along with it. For McKenna, The Drowsy Chaperone will be the first musical she has performed since Bugsy Malone 3 years ago. She is very excited to continue into musical theatre next year, as she is very committed to the theatre program and to all her peers in the class. McKenna is looking forward to performing The Drowsy Chaperone for everyone!

Abby has been an active participant in the Arts for multiple years. She has been in the ABJ choir, taken the ABJ dance course, and Musical Theatre for three years each. She has also been in two shows at Festival Place: Honk Jr. and Mary Poppins. She also starred in her middle school production of A Kandy Cane Christmas. Abby took Ukrainian dance for 7 years with the Shumka Dance Company. She is very proud of the production The Drowsy Chaperone, and is very excited for everyone to see it.
Olivia Jorgenson

Olivia has had a love for musical theatre since she was a little girl. She has performed in a few musicals throughout her life including Pinocchio junior and an excellent adventure. She loves participating and seeing a show come to life. This will be her 2nd and final year at abj as she will be graduating come June. Olivia has been anticipating the showing of The Drowsy Chaperone and can’t wait for everyone to see it.

Hannah has been in the ABJ theatre program for three years now and has been interested in the arts for as long as she can remember. Some of the musicals she was in include Alice in Wonderland, The Lion King, and Annie. Hannah has been looking forward to being in the senior musical since she was in elementary school. She also had the privilege to be one of the dance captains this year as well as having the opportunity to co-choreograph one of the songs. Hannah is beyond excited to share what she and her classmates have been working on since November!

Jacob is very excited to be a part of The Drowsy Chaperone! This is his third production in ABJ Fine Arts following The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and Band Geeks and other productions such as Peter Pan, Anne of Green Gables, Charlotte’s Web, Fiddler on the Roof and Singin' in the Rain at Festival Place. This is Abigail’s third year of musical theatre at abj. She started on stage in kindergarten by dancing at “step by step school of dance” and continued until grade seven. After that she did her first drama performance Candy Cane Christmas at Holy Spirit. She was set to be in abj’s Annie last spring however due to covid it was canceled. So Abigail is excited to be back on the stage and perform in her very first musical as Trix.
Paulina Callioux

Paulina has been on the stage since the young age of three years old. She has grown up a competitive dancer, performing on stages such as the Jubilee Auditorium, the Winspear Centre and of course the ABJ Fine Arts stage. In her time at Jordan, she has taken part in drama, dance, and musical theatre, and is excited to perform as Kitty, her first major role in the fine arts program. Paulina would like to thank her directors for all of the work they put in for us during this hard time, and is thrilled for all audiences to be able to watch ABJ Fine Arts’ rendition of The Drowsy Chaperone.

Mikhail has been in theatre since he was six years old. He started doing shows such as 101 Dalmations and Cinderella at Festival Place. He has been part of ABJ Fine Arts program for four years and has found a second home in the theatre. Mikhail is also part of the drama program, the band program, and the choir program. He’s been part of the band program for six years and has danced for three years with Step By Step. He looks forward to putting on this amazing musical for you. Enjoy the show!

Emma has been in the ABJ musical theatre program for the past 2 years. She also took Drama for a year. She was in two productions at her middle school, St. Theresa: Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, and Bugsy Malone. Emma is very proud of the work she has put into The Drowsy Chaperone, and is very excited to share this production with her friends and family.

The stage has long felt like a home to Linnea. She began singing when she was eight years old as part of the Strathcona Children’s Choir and has enjoyed performing ever since. Linnea has been a part of numerous productions, including Seussical Jr, Alice in Wonderland Jr, Willy Wonka Jr, and Bugsy Malone Jr during her time in the Performing Arts program at St. Theresa Catholic School. She has been a proud member of the Mixed, Girls, and Ensemble choir since her first year at ABJ and has been involved in the Drama and Musical Theatre programs here. She has enjoyed seeing past ABJ theatre productions through elementary and middle school and she is grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this main stage musical. Ava MacDougall has been a member of the Abj Fine arts program for four years with leading roles in both previous productions of Band Geeks and A Fairy Tale Ending. Ava is an ongoing member in the Abj choir program as well as being trained vocally at Crescendo Music studios. With they’re role in The Drowsy Chaperone, Ava wants to give a special thanks to everyone who continued to support the arts after the last year. They hope you enjoy the show!

Sarah has been with the ABJ theatre and band program since ninth grade and been involved in fine arts since elementary school. She was a part of the Elk Island Junior Honor Choir. In ninth grade she performed trumpet in the pit band for the school’s musical, Chicago. She was cast last year as Kate in Annie Junior and wishes the show could’ve taken place. She is in the school’s french immersion program, is a cheerleader and a softball player. Sarah would like to thank her castmates for their hard work throughout the strange year we’ve had, and the teachers who have put in an insane amount of work to make sure we look and feel our best on stage.

Dalyce has been in the ABJ Fine Arts program since she was in grade 10. Her first show was A Fairytale Ending in grade 10, and her second show being Band Geeks for her grade 11 year. The Fine Arts program has really helped her find her passion, and she wants to teach Fine Arts once she graduates. While playing the trumpet for 6 years, she has the pleasure of working with such amazing teachers here at ABJ. Dalyce is super grateful to be in The Drowsy Chaperone, and wants to thank the Technical Theatre crew and Directors for all of their hard work. She hopes you enjoy this amazing show!

Sydney has been performing ever since she was little. She started dancing at the age of 4 until she was 14. Sydney has a passion for being on stage, she was a part of many different programs including the ABJ choir for one year, the St Theresa Performing Arts Program from grade 6-8, she has been in many musicals including, Alice In Wonderland JR, Willy Wonka JR, Bugsy Malone JR, and now The Drowsy Chaperone. Melissa is quite ecstatic to be in this show as it has been a very unique experience to get here. From learning everything online and then back into in-person classes. This class has been so great as everyone is very talented and it's an absolutely wonderful show! Melissa has been in theater since grade 7 and played a number of roles but she is very ecstatic to be in the wonderful world of the Drowsy Chaperone.
