Art 7 and 8

Art is an optional course that is offered to grade 7 and 8 students. No matter whether you are a beginner artist who has never done art before, or whether you consider yourself an expert artist, everyone is welcome!! All you need is some creativity, an open-mind and a few art supplies and you are good to go! In these courses there is opportunity to learn about the elements of art and the basics of color theory, as well as letting your creativity run wild. We also use a variety of different mediums to create art works. The course is also fully project based, with a sketchbook component, and there are no exams.

Bring your creativity and a pencil (to start) and join our Art 7 or Art 8 courses!!

Foods 7 and 8

Foods is an optional course that is offered to grade 7 and 8 students.

Course objectives:

Students will practice kitchen safety and sanitation.

Students will become familiar with food preparation terms.

Student will demonstrate correct measure techniques.

Students will be able to follow a recipe.

Students will learn how to apply the Canada Food guide in their daily food choices.

Outdoor Education

This option is for students in grade 7 or 8 who have a passion for the outdoors! Through this class, you will learn more about the environment around you and gain a deeper appreciation for it's beauty. You will also learn about different activities that you can participate in outdoors. Part of your participation in this course will require you to explore the outdoors around your house! To wrap up the year, you will use what you have learnt to create a plan for a safe and fun camping trip!
