Maker Spaces on a Budget

Session Description

Participants will explore tools to start a Maker-Space with spending a fortune. Come play and learn about Little Bits, Makey-Makey, Shapeoko, and Ozobots.

Presenters

Matt Ehrhardt has plenty of experience and a solid education in his background. Matt holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Toledo and a Master’s degree in Educational Administration from Ashland University. Ehrhardt taught in the classroom for eight years and then spent three years in Avon Lake as an assistant principal before returning to the area where he was the principal at Edison Middle School. Matt currently serves as an assistant director for EHOVE, where he oversees the Fab Lab and STEM Education Programming. Matt is also an Adjunct Professor for Ashland University and will be offering graduate credit for this class.

Noah Rasor has been using Fab Labs for recreation since 2008 and has worked as a lab tech, high school/college/adult fab lab teacher, coordinator, and manager at several Fab Labs since 2010. He has traveled internationally visiting Fab Labs, winning international fabrication contests, and currently works at the EHOVE Fab Lab as an instructor. He also works for MIT and the Fab Foundation designing and building mobile Fab Labs stationed across the U.S.
